This project treats of hardware and software development for a little UAV (Unmanned Air Vehicle) for information acquisition in emergency area.
Distinctive aspect of this work:
- robotic technology application to maximize vehicle autonomy and reduce operator job
- miniaturized hardware for navigation and mission sensors, and for on board computers
- controller synthesis with validation by simulation
- software for mission management and ground communication
Overall vehicle mass is 0.5kg and a max diameter of 79cm. Vehicle structure, motors and rotors are taken by DraganFlyer V Ti; avionics were completely replaced.
This project is developed in the SIED lab (Intelligent Systems for Emergencies and Civil Defense) of Department of Computer and Systems Science "Antonio Ruberti" in collaboration with the Department of Mechanics and Aeronautics" of University of Rome "Sapienza"; SIED lab is inside the Istituto Superiore Antincendi (how to reach the laboratory).
